How to read more books?
How to read more books?
Books are our best peeps. They supply words to our unvoiced feelings, instill distinctive perspectives and hold us in the dark only to enchant our hearts with light. Only a fool would dare to hate books but for all those who are smart enough to discover this treasure, books are life!
I have come across a lot of such book lovers and I adore them whole-heartedly. The only problem with them is their endless reading TBR.
I always find myself attracted to a lot of books and at the same time, unable to read them for years. Many have been just hanging on my TBR for who-knows-how-long. Over the years, I have come across with few techniques and certain methods using which a person can read more and more BOOKS!
Do you wish finishing a ton of books, you have ever wanted to read?
Well, here is a list below which can rectify the common mistakes and boost your reading number.
Devote an hour or more in your reading schedule and stick to it. You can read before bedtime or you can read in the morning after waking up. Reading before and after your sleeping time is the most lucid and productive way of reading. If you don’t have enough time, devote at least 20 minutes every day.
2.Multitask
Some people find it extremely problematic to engage more time for reading because of their busy lifestyle. You need not worry about being unable to have enough time. You can read while performing your other day-to-day tasks for instance, while having your food or while working out, you can listen to an audiobook. This way you would be able to read more and more.
3.Set goals
This one is the most important and extremely misunderstood.
Devote no more than 5-7 days on a book meaning, set a reading goal of reading one book per week. This way you can read 52 books per year.
You can set short term goals always. For example, let’s say you are reading a 250 pages long book. Try to set a goal of reading 50 pages per day so that you can finish reading the book in just 5 days.
PewDiePie-the popular youtuber once read 720 books in a year. Woah! Sounds wonder.
But no hurries! Always read with a pace you find the most lucid and pleasing.
This year, I resolute a goal of reading 60 books i.e. 5 books per month. Wish me luck!
May I punch it whoosh-fully!
4.How to read more books?
Never read something you aren’t enjoying to fullest. Sometimes, one tends to read a book because it is hyped [over-hyped usually] or just for the sake od finishing their ‘read-marathon’. It’s okay to give up on a book that doesn’t delights you the pleasure. There is an abundance of books out in this world. So why waste time over a book you aren’t enjoying?
5. Follow speed-time rule
Speed is inversely proportional to time.
Speed= distance / time
If you are a slow reader, you need to devote more time in order to read more books. If you are a speed-reader, you will always cover reading more and more pages within a short period of time.
Reading is a pleasure and it completely depends upon the reader how they want to relish it. Both slow reading and speed reading has its own delights.
